Actors Journal – Charles Shaughnessy

Charles Shaughnessy, a native of London, England, was born into a show business family. His father was the principal writer on the television series “Upstairs, Downstairs” and his mother was an actress. From high school plays to regional theatre to Broadway, Shaughnessy has been drawn to the stage throughout his career. Yet, many of you will remember him best as Shane Donovan from the soap opera Days of Our Lives. Shaughnessy is also well known and loved for his portrayal of Maxwell Sheffield opposite Fran Drescher on the popular CBS sitcom The Nanny.
