Actors Journal – Dan Lauria

Home / Actors Journal – Dan Lauria

Dan Lauria is well known to Durango audiences, having performed here numerous times with his long-time friend Wendie Malick. In addition to acting, he has been a college football player, a football and wrestling coach, a substitute teacher, and a captain in the United States Marine Corps, where he served one tour in Vietnam. He is best known for his role as Jack Arnold, the father on The Wonder Years (1988-1993), but this Brooklyn-born veteran has appeared in scores of television shows and films such as Stakeout, Another Stakeout, Independence Day, Contagion, The Spirit, Alien Trespass, Without a Trace, and, most recently, The Way Back. Lauria often plays gruff authority figures and now has nearly 200 acting credits on his resume.
