Actors Journal – Alfred Molina

Home / Actors Journal – Alfred Molina

With over 200 acting credits, Alfred Molina is a versatile and hardworking actor. You may remember him as the narrow-minded mayor in the movie Chocolat, or as the sinister Dr. Otto Octavius, the villain in Spider-Man 2. Molina was born in London of Spanish and Italian parents and says his versatility as an actor comes partly from their insistence that he speak those languages as well as English as he grew up. His multi-lingual upbringing has allowed him to play a variety of “foreigner” roles throughout his long career. Although he has appeared in more than a hundred films, his first love is live theatre.
