James Pickens Jr. is probably best known for his role as Dr. Richard Webber on the long-running television series Grey’s Anatomy. Born in Cleveland, he began his television career on the soap Another World and has since appeared in numerous TV shows and 26 films, notably the sports drama 42 about the life of Jackie Robinson, and Ghosts of Mississippi, where he played slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers. When he’s not acting, James is a competitive cattle roper. He is part of the United States Championship Roping team and is a philanthropic supporter of America rodeo.
