Durango PlayFest 2020 – Updated COVID-19 Response

Thank you for your support, good wishes and interest in Durango PlayFest.  While we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our August 2020 festival in order to keep our community safe, we are by no means closing up shop!  We will continue to work throughout the summer to bring you creative inspiration and to plan for 2021. Most importantly, we support the work of playwrights and bring fabulous artistic talent to the process, of which you are such an integral part.

The new landscape we are all learning to navigate presents challenges for theatre, as well as opportunities. As promising ventures develop, PlayFest will share links and exciting content. You will be recipients of special messages from our PlayFest artists, who are just as disappointed as all of us to miss Durango PlayFest this year. We’ll also keep you updated on the ongoing and upcoming work of our PlayFest alumni, as well as exclusive insights and interviews!

Our hope is that we will find ways to create a more loving world and emerge creatively charged and ready to share the experience of live theatre together at Durango PlayFest in August 2021. And in the meantime, theatres may be among the last gathering spaces to open up again, but as soon as they do, please run — don’t walk — to support your local theatre!

Be well. Stay safe. Felicia Lansbury Meyer

Let’s stay connected!
