Amy is an award-winning theatre and film director known for telling female-centered, character-driven stories for both stage and screen. She has directed dozens of plays at prominent Bay Area theaters and was the associate artistic director of the San Francisco Playhouse, as well as an associate artist at Magic Theatre and Marin Theatre Company. Expanding her portfolio, she began adapting plays into films. The Surrogate, her fourth such adaptation, is an homage to the Bay Area, her home for many years. Her most recent film, 7000 Miles, starring Wendie Malick, received multiple festival awards as did Kepler’s Dream, starring Holland Taylor, Seducing Charlie Barker (Theresa Rebeck), and Drifting Elegant (Steven Belber), along with her short, Ball Lightning (Barry Gifford). 7000 Miles has just received distribution with BayView Entertainment, and will be available on numerous streaming networks. Amy is thrilled to be back at Durango Playfest for her second season!
