Stage Directions Reader — Drowning (2025)
Desiree has been studying and working in the performing arts as a dancer, actor, director, and writer for 18 years, and was the director of the Sunflower Theatre in Cortez from 2017-2020. She served an AmeriCorps position supporting after school programs for Mancos School District and the Safe Spaces for Youth Action Team and now coordinates out of school time programs for the district. She strives to provide opportunities for youth to express themselves and learn essential skills through the creative process including listening to others, fostering understanding and compassion, and working as a team. She is also completing a master’s degree in Global Cultural Studies from King’s College London and serves on the Cortez Public Arts Advisory Committee.
