Abigail Zealey Bess is an award-winning filmmaker, theatre director and educator. She has been directing theatre and film for more than 35 years. She has specialized in new work since she arrived from London and established her film company, Weird Sisters. Film credits include Play Ball! (Fanfare for a Common Man, Random Acts of Intimacy, Caught in Time), Mary and Louise, Icarus Stops For Breakfast, which won more than 35 “Best Film” awards. Bess continues to head Weird Sisters, which is devoted to the promotion of prolific women artists and writers. She is a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre, Cinefemme, SDC, Actors Studio PDU, and NYWIFT. She teaches at the Graduate Film Program at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, and Columbia University. www.weirdsistersfilms.com
