Layan Elwazani (she/her) is an actor, poet, playwright, and director based in New York City. She is dedicated to the generation of new work as an act of resistance, and creates art that asks questions about justice, community, and belonging. Some credits include The Band’s Visit-Broadway and National Tour, Noura at the Guthrie Theater, We Live in Cairo at American Repertory Theater, and Yasmina’s Necklace and Premiere Stages. Her new-work development has been featured at Noor Theater, Ars Nova, Vineyard Theater, National Queer Theater, Prospect Theater, the O’Neill Theater Center, Playwrights Horizons, the Public Theater and more. She is a founding member of Medina Theater Collective, and a member of The Vixens En Garde. She holds a BFA in Acting from Wright State University, and is pursuing her MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep. www.LayanElwazani.com
