Melissa is a director and educator based in New York City, with national and international credits including multiple appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Ireland National Tour of Misterman. Her work has been featured at 59E59, Luna Stage, Mile Square Theatre, Creede Repertory Theatre, and The Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Selected directing credits include Lonely Planet, Jekyll & Hyde, Red, A Few Good Men, Dracula, Men on Boats, Trojan Women, Goodbody, and Pirates of Penzance. Melissa is the artistic director of Resolve Productions, a NYC-based company focused on developing new work and making a meaningful impact both locally and beyond. She has contributed to development platforms like id(iots) at play, VoxFest (Dartmouth), Dragon’s Egg, and the Thingamajig Playwrights Festival. She holds an MFA in directing from Rutgers University and serves on the theatre faculty at CAP21/Molloy University. www.melissafirlit.com
