William Ludel has had an extensive career as a playwright, theater director and television director. He is the author of “A Death in the House Next Door to Kathleen Turner’s House On Long Island” which premiered at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta, “Red & Scooter” a finalist for the National Repertory Theater Award, “The Trial of the Oscillating Marbleman” performed at the Yale Cabaret Hollywood. His other plays include “Scenes From My Life by George Jacob Gershwin, Jr.”, “No Soap Radio”, and “The Dressing Room”. Several of these scripts have been published by Next Stage Press. As a director he has worked at South Coast Rep, Antaeus Theatre Company, Long Wharf Theatre, WPA Theatre, Hartford Stage, Pittsburgh Public, Yale Rep, and Williamstown, among others. For his work in television he has received three Directors Guild of America awards and eleven Daytime Emmy Awards. He is the recipient of the University of Rochester Dewey Prize and the Emerson College Alumni Achievement Award. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.
